Job summary

PTS Advance is seeking a Fire Protection/Suppression Designer to work remotely. The role focuses on designing fire protection systems for diverse facilities, with emphasis on accuracy and compliance. The position requires extensive experience and precise, well-presented deliverables.

The designer will perform field surveys, prepare drawings, and coordinate with project teams to meet NFPA and local codes. Training in fire suppression design is preferred, with ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Minimum associate's degree in CAD/drafting, architecture, construction technology, engineering technology, or similar field
• Documented training in fire suppression design and/or design application software
• Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus
• Continuing education in fire protection technologies is a plus

Responsibilities

• Design fire sprinkler systems including wet, dry, preaction, deluge and special hazards systems
• Perform field surveys to gather data necessary to complete design work
• Prepare detailed drawings, hydraulic calculations, and seismic bracing calculations
• Submit drawings for permit, coordinate plan check process, address corrections, etc.
• Provide regular communication with internal and external project teams
• Ensure designs comply with all applicable codes and standards (NFPA, state and local building codes) Education
