Job summary

Edgewater Technical Associates seeks qualified candidates for an SES Fire Operations Training Specialist position in Richland, WA, supporting the DOE Hanford Field Office. The role focuses on developing training, exercises, and validation activities for fire service transition and emergency response programs.

Ideal candidates bring 10 years of Hanford fire/emergency experience and SME incident command in technical rescue, with deep knowledge of facilities, hazards, and firefighter training

Qualifications

• 10 years Hanford Site fire/emergency response experience.
• Subject Matter Expert level incident command in technical rescue.
• Deep knowledge of Hanford facilities, land, and hazards.
• Experience providing training to firefighters.

Responsibilities

• Develop and provide training supporting transition of fire service activities.
• Assist in developing exercises, performance tests, and surveillance to validate capabilities for transition activities.
• Ensure compliance with training programs for fire department personnel and equipment use.
• Provide input in developing, negotiating, and managing fire service transition plans, agreements and contracts.
• Help establish strategies for emergency services plans, including hazmat and outside agency support.
• Perform validation of fire service transition activities using NFPA standards and practices.
• Review and assist with performance testing, drills, and exercise support to fire agencies.
• Assist with oversight of the Hanford Fire Department supporting the transition of fire and emergency response services.
