Job summary

MetroPower is seeking a Technician 3, Senior Fire Alarm technician to install, terminate, test, and maintain fire alarm systems for commercial and industrial projects. The role requires reading blueprints, adhering to safety and code standards, and collaborating with field teams to ensure reliable installations and excellent customer service.

Ideal candidates have 5 years in fire alarm installation and troubleshooting; NICET II is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5 years’ experience in fire alarm system installation and troubleshooting.
• NICET II certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect work areas and complete Job Hazard Analysis prior to starting work to ensure a safe jobsite and compliance with company safety standards.
• Review and plan daily tasks, scheduling, equipment, tools, and material needs to maintain project efficiency and quality.
• Analyze blueprints and prepare for upcoming tasks by anticipating equipment, procedures, and training needs.
• Complete post-installation documentation, timesheets, materials reconciliation, and daily logs.
• Run new fire alarm cabling and conduit in new or existing buildings; terminate and install devices; install and terminate control panels and power supplies.
