Job summary

Brookfield Global Recruitment Services is seeking a seasoned fire alarm technician to install, service, and commission fire alarm systems in commercial environments in Wisconsin. The role requires hands-on experience and adherence to NFPA 72 and life-safety codes.

You will read blueprints, diagnose faults, perform testing, and coordinate with customers. A valid driver's license and ability to pass background/drug screenings are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on fire alarm installation and/or service experience in commercial environments.
• Experience with fire alarm system installation, programming, troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs.
• Strong understanding of NFPA 72, applicable building codes, and life safety systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, wiring schematics, and construction drawings.
• Exp terminating, testing, and commissioning fire alarm devices and control panels.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass background screening, drug screening, and customer-specific security requirements.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Preferred Certifications:

• NICET Level I or II in Fire Alarm Systems (Level II preferred).
• Manufacturer certifications are highly desirable, including: Notifier, Simplex, Siemens, Edwards/EST, Honeywell, Kidde, Gamewell‑FCI, Bosch etc.
• Texas Fire Alarm License (FAL) or ability to obtain quickly.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Lift certification and basic low‑voltage certifications are a plus.

Technical Skills:

Candidates should demonstrate experience with:

• Addressable and conventional fire alarm systems.
• Device replacement and troubleshooting.
• SLC and NAC circuit diagnostics.
• Smoke detectors, pull stations, horn/strobes, monitor modules, relay modules, duct detectors, beam detectors, and specialty initiating devices.
• Battery calculations and replacement.
• Ground fault and short circuit troubleshooting.
• Laptop‑based programming and diagnostics.
• Basic networking concepts as they relate to modern fire alarm systems.
• Documentation of service work and deficiencies.
