Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Senior Fire Alarm Systems Service Technician for our San Antonio, TX location. You will service and maintain commercial fire alarm systems, inspect components, and mentor junior technicians to grow a knowledge-sharing culture.

Your regular customer interactions will help keep buildings and occupants safe. The role requires 3+ years in fire alarm installations/maintenance, NICET Level 3 within 12 months, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in installation/maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems.
• Must read and understand design and construction documents.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to participate in Siemens’ fleet vehicle program.

Responsibilities

• Execute comprehensive testing and inspections for systems under maintenance agreements.
• Create detailed test and inspection reports based on code requirements and customer needs.
• Respond to, troubleshoot, and complete repairs to maintain system functionality.
• Identify code and non-conformance issues and ensure standards are met.
• Quote small repair jobs and provide parts/labor details to estimators and sales.
• Plan work with Lead Technicians and Supervisors to strategize tasks.

Senior Fire Alarm Systems Service Technicians play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will be responsible for the service and maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems. You willensure that components are inspected, tested, operated, and maintained according to the operational requirements of the customer.In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also act as a mentor, providing on-the-job training to less experienced technicians, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge-sharing within our team.Our Fire Alarm Service Technicians are the face of Siemens,and your expertise and regular interaction with the customer will help keep their buildings and inhabitants safe.

**As a** Senior Fire Alarm Systems Service Technician, you will:

• Execute comprehensive testing and inspections for systems under maintenance agreements.
• Create detailed test and inspection reports based on code requirements and customer needs
• Swiftly respond to, troubleshoot, and complete necessary repairs to maintain system functionality. Report on activities completed, deferred, or requiring further action or material
• Identify code and non-conformance issues, ensuring adherence to required standards
• Quote small repair jobs and provide detailed parts and labor requirements to estimators and sales for large repair projects
• Plan work with Lead Technicians and Supervisors to strategize tasks effectively

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

_Basic Qualifications_:

• 3+ years of experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems
• Must be willing and able to differentiate types/colors of wire, use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet, carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 poundsunassisted
• Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 3 within 12 months
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read/understand design and construction documents
• Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

_Preferred Qualifications_:

• High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred
• 5+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems

The pay range for this position is $57,120 - $97,920 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
