Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Sandy, UT is seeking a Senior Fire Alarm Systems Service Technician to service and maintain commercial fire alarm systems and mentor junior staff. You will inspect, test, and ensure compliance with codes while interacting with customers to keep buildings and occupants safe.

The role requires 4+ years of experience and Utah Master Fire Alarm Technician certification or NICET III, with the ability to work with Siemens Cerberus and other tools.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience programming and/or servicing commercial fire alarm systems.
• Must have Utah Master Fire Alarm Technician certification or NICET III Fire Alarm Certification.
• Must be able to differentiate wire types/colors, use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; lift up to 75 pounds unassisted.

• Create detailed test and inspection reports based on code requirements and customer needs.
• Swiftly respond to, troubleshoot, and complete necessary repairs to maintain system functionality; report activities completed, deferred, or requiring further action or material.

• Quote small repair jobs and provide detailed parts and labor requirements to estimators and sales for large repair projects.

Senior Fire Alarm Systems Service Technicians

play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will be responsible for the service and maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems. You will ensure that components are inspected, tested, operated, and maintained according to the operational requirements of the customer. In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also act as a mentor, providing on-the-job training to less experienced technicians, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge‑sharing within our team. Our Fire Alarm Service Technicians are the face of Siemens, and your expertise and regular interaction with the customer will help keep their buildings and inhabitants safe.

As a Senior Fire Alarm Systems Service Technician, you will:

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience programming and/or servicing commercial fire alarm systems
• Utah Master Fire Alarm Technician certification or NICET III Fire Alarm Certification
• Must be willing and able to differentiate types/colors of wire, use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet, carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 poundsunassisted
• If you already have the Utah Master Fire Alarm Technician certification but no NICET, you must obtain the NICET II Fire Alarm Certification within 6 months
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read/understand design and construction documents
• Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or state‑recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred
• 7+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems
• Experience with Siemens Cerberus

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $44.00 per hour. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
