Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; candidates with 5+ years of fire system design experience will be considered.
4+ years of experience engineering fire alarm systems.
Knowledge of NFPA 72 and fire codes.
Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams.
Experience with AutoCAD and design; proficient in Microsoft Office.
NICET I - Fire Alarm Systems certification; ability and willingness to obtain NICET II within 1 year.

Responsibilities

Design fire alarm systems for buildings, including floorplan drawings, riser diagrams, wiring details, panels, and BOMs.
Prepare submittals and schedules; handle ordering of products and equipment.
Participate in turnover meetings to evaluate estimates and layouts.
Provide start-up documentation to Project Manager for commissioning.
Perform quality assurance; mentor and direct the design activities of the engineering team.
