Job summary

Power Design, Inc. is seeking a Fire Alarm Designer to act as the subject matter expert for design and installation. Based in St.

Petersburg, FL, you will review layouts and drawings, ensuring code compliance and optimal design strategies. The role requires NICET certification and at least 5 years of fire alarm system design experience, with strong AutoCAD and MS Office skills. You will lead multiple projects through bidding, permitting, and construction, while upholding Power Design’s core

Qualifications

NICET certification and fire alarm design expertise, including high-density, high-rise, and smoke control.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred.
Strong knowledge of local codes and construction safety (IBC/IECC).
At least 5 years of fire alarm system design experience.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the best design solution by applying industry knowledge and quality standards while considering customer needs and budgeting requirements.
Act as primary lead and provide technical assistance for multiple projects during bidding, design, permitting, and construction.
Provide design direction, support, and guidance to all team members.
Communicate effectively with customers, project team members, and inspecting authorities.
