Position: Senior FIPS 140 Security Engineer

Location: Columbia, MD or 100% Remote

You will have an exciting opportunity to work in the growing IT Security field supporting National defense. The products you will work on are deployed into larger systems to facilitate secure communications for our military in the cyber warfare environment. Qualifications You Will Bring:
  • Knowledge of FIPS 140 requirements.
  • Understanding of cryptographic algorithms, key exchange, hashing, PKI, random number generators, etc.
  • Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Java.
  • Ability to interpret security standards and apply them to products.
  • Knowledge of security protocols like SSH, IPsec, TLS.
  • Experience in building testing environments, performing tests, and reporting results (including technical writing).
  • CVP Certified Tester.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent multitasking and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with VHDL and Verilog.
  • Debugging skills using GDB, WinDBG, Visual Studio.
  • Knowledge of entropy sources and statistical analysis.
  • Experience with OpenSSL and OpenPGP.
  • Vulnerability analysis and penetration testing experience.
  • Strong understanding of computer security principles.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Related certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP/CCIE, JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP/JNCIE).
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Linux.
  • Experience with test equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.
  • Understanding of X.509 certificates and protocols like CDP and OCSP.
  • Networking setup experience, including subnets and routing.
Education & Experience:

BS degree and 4-8 years of relevant experience required.

Position Details:
  • Pay Range: $68.95 - $73.95 per hour.

Note: Final salary depends on responsibilities, experience, education, skills, location, travel, and market conditions.
