Position: Senior FIPS 140 Security Engineer
Location: Columbia, MD or 100% Remote

Required Qualifications:

• Knowledge of FIPS 140 requirements.
• Understanding of cryptographic algorithms, key exchange, hashing, PKI, and random number generators.
• Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Java.
• Ability to interpret security standards and apply them to products.
• Familiarity with security protocols like SSH, IPsec, TLS.
• Experience in testing environments, performing tests, and reporting results (including technical writing).
• CVP Certified Tester.
• Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with VHDL, Verilog, debugging tools, entropy source analysis, OpenSSL/OpenPGP, vulnerability assessment, and penetration testing.
• Knowledge of computer security principles, Active Directory, Linux, and network setup.
• Hands-on experience with measurement tools and understanding of X.509 certificates and protocols like CDP and OCSP.

Education & Experience:

BS degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience required.

Position Details:

• Salary Range: $68.95 - $73.95 per hour

Final salary depends on responsibilities, experience, education, skills, location, travel, and market conditions.
