Position: Senior FIPS 140 Security Engineer

Location: Columbia, MD or 100% Remote

You will have an exciting opportunity to work in the growing IT Security field supporting National defense. The products you will work on will be deployed into larger systems or used in deployments to facilitate secure communications for our military in the cyber warfare environment. Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of FIPS 140 requirements.
  • Understanding of cryptographic algorithms, key exchange, hashing, PKI, and random number generators.
  • Experience with programming languages (C, C++, Python, Java) and development environments.
  • Ability to interpret security standards and apply them to products.
  • Knowledge of security protocols (SSH, IPsec, TLS).
  • Experience in building testing environments, conducting tests, and technical reporting.
  • CVP Certified Tester.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent multitasking and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with VHDL and Verilog.
  • Debugging skills (GDB, WinDBG, Visual Studio).
  • Entropy source analysis.
  • Knowledge of OpenSSL and OpenPGP.
  • Vulnerability analysis or penetration testing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of security principles and best practices.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Related certifications (CCNA/CCNP/CCIE, JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP/JNCIE).
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Linux.
  • Experience with electronic test tools.
  • Understanding of X.509 certificates and protocols like CDP and OCSP.
  • Network setup and routing knowledge.
Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree and 4-8 years of relevant experience required.

Position Details:
  • Salary Range: $68.95 - $73.95 per hour

Note: Salary depends on responsibilities, experience, education, skills, location, travel, and market conditions.
