Job summary

FinOps Weekly in Austin teams with finance and engineering to optimize cloud costs and drive cost transparency. The Senior FinOps Analyst will build a cloud financial management practice from the ground up, shaping strategy, tooling, and governance with a cross-functional bridge between Finance, Engineering, and Procurement.

The role focuses on forecasting, cost allocation, executive dashboards, and forward-looking infrastructure planning to enable cost-aware engineering decisions and scalable

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in FP&A, FinOps, or cost analysis.
• Proven track record in establishing and maturing a FinOps practice.
• Deep knowledge of AWS and Azure pricing and billing.
• Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Finance, Procurement, and Product.
• Leadership in automation to increase spend visibility and governance.
• Experience in high-growth SaaS or multi-tenant environments.
• Strong executive storytelling and reporting abilities.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Develop forecasting models and financial reporting for cloud spend.
• Design and manage commitment strategies such as Reserved Instances and Savings Plans.
• Lead cross-functional optimization initiatives with engineering teams.
• Establish tagging standards and cost allocation frameworks.
• Develop executive dashboards and reporting on cloud cost trends and risks.
• Support vendor negotiations and long-term infrastructure planning.
