Job summary

Bel Fuse Inc. is seeking a finishing specialist to perform required finishing processes per engineering and customer specifications. You will collaborate with engineers, assemblers and technicians to identify process improvements that enhance safety, productivity and quality.

The role involves applying epoxy, painting, testing units, training new staff, and maintaining equipment logs. Strong teamwork and adherence to MIL-SPEC paint systems are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of experience performing set-ups on similar production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Apply epoxy to seal product; sand epoxy finish; repair voids as needed.
• Paint units required to print specifications.
• Test units as required to verify they meet engineering specifications.
• Train new employees as needed on process and quality.
• Screen print part identification and information.
• Use ovens as needed to bake and cure finishing materials.
• Perform required maintenance checks on tools and equipment as well as basic repairs when needed.
• Maintain silk screen log and ensure that they comply with engineering drawings.
• Maintains MIL-SPEC paint systems.
• Test custom-built units that call out for leak testing operation.
• Perform preventative maintenance on Leak test machinery.
• Notify Lead or Supervisor when chemicals need to be ordered.
• Demonstrates mechanical ability.
• Perform other duties as required; may be assigned to other job classifications.
• Trains all finishers to ensure that all customer requirements are met.

• Maintains Military - MIS2007 Enthrone Ink paint system.
• Test custom-built units that call out for leak testing operation.
• Performs preventative maintenance on Leak test machinery.
• Notifies Lead or Supervisor when chemicals need to be ordered.
• Demonstrates mechanical ability.
• Perform other duties as required. These duties may include assignment in job classifications other than the primary assignment.
• Trains all finishers to ensure that all customer requirements are met.
• Regular and predictable attendance is presumed to be and essential function of all employment.
• This position will report to the Production Supervisor.
• Must communicate effectively at all levels, while exhibiting strong interpersonal skills and effective team skills.
• Employee is responsible for the generation, labeling, storage, and other general management of hazardous waste. Employee requires “Hazardous Waste Management Training” once per year in accordance with Minn. R. 7045.0292.
• High Volume/Low Pressure Paint Gun Training is required upon hire or transfer into the position.
• Performs all preventative maintenance in the paint booth.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of experience performing set-ups on similar production equipment.

Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Compensation range of $18.48 to $21.23 hourly. The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
