Job summary

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA) is seeking a W2 Principal Financial Systems Engineer (Python / AWS) for a Direct Hire with an investment management client in Atlanta, GA. Hybrid role requiring onsite presence four days per week.

Full-time permanent role with visa restrictions. Hands-on technical leadership in SMA and Financial Systems; combines Python development with cloud-native design, enterprise integration, and architecture leadership.

Qualifications

8+ years of enterprise software engineering experience.
Expert-level Python development experience.
Strong AWS experience including Lambda, S3, EKS, and SQS.
Experience designing and developing distributed systems and microservices.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
Strong Git and Bitbucket Pipelines experience.
Experience building CI/CD pipelines and supporting DevOps practices.
Experience integrating enterprise applications using REST APIs.
Experience with enterprise scheduling platforms such as Airflow or AutoSys.
Strong solution architecture and technical design experience.
Experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with stakeholders.
Experience across the full SDLC in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise Financial Systems solutions.
Serve as the technical leader for cloud-native applications and microservices.
Remain hands-on with software development using Python while mentoring teams.
Design scalable solutions aligned with architecture standards.
Lead design workshops with business and technology stakeholders.
Define architecture principles and evaluate tech options for scalability.
Develop cloud-native apps using AWS services (Lambda, S3, EKS, SQS).
Design and support containerized apps with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Git/Bitbucket Pipelines.
Design REST API integrations and enterprise interfaces.
Promote Agile, DevOps, TDD, automation, engineering excellence.
Reduce technical debt and improve quality and scalability.
Troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing support.
Collaborate with architects, QA, developers, and business partners.
