Qualifications

Job description

The role of a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst:

The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for the timely preparation of the Company’s external financial reports in accordance with GAAP and SEC requirements. In this role, you will also be responsible for some of the more complex areas of the accounting close, including ASC 842 lease accounting and consolidations. You will also assist with the assessment of new accounting standards and proper accounting for complex transactions.

Additional responsibilities include the preparation and update of accounting policies, providing supporting documentation to external auditors, and collaboration with other departments. This position requires strong organization, time management, and communication skills. Our ideal candidate is a critical thinker and a self-starter who can work independently and perform job functions with minimal supervision and identify process improvements and efficiencies while successfully meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the Company’s SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q and earnings release), including supporting documentation for all filings
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements, including cash flow worksheets and other supporting schedules
  • Primary liaison with other departments to obtain required supporting documentation and information to complete financial statements and SEC filings
  • Preparation of the monthly consolidation of financial results
  • Preparation and maintenance of ASC 842 lease accounting schedules within the Company’s lease administration system based on individual lease contracts & amendment terms; understand the asset and liability position of every new lease with a detailed reconciliation to the general ledger
  • Responsible for preparing and analyzing certain assigned journal entries and account reconciliations for areas of responsibility in connection with the monthly accounting close process and completing other various projects as determined on an ad hoc basis
  • Coordinate and review XBRL for all 10-Q and 10-K filings
  • Assist with researching, documenting and implementing conclusions regarding the technical accounting treatment for non-routine transactions and new accounting pronouncements
  • Assist in technical accounting areas including, but not limited to revenue recognition, debt modification; impairment and lease accounting, including updates to policies and procedures
  • Assist with external auditor requests, including preparation of certain requested schedules
  • Explore opportunities to streamline the quarterly reporting process and leverage the Company’s ERP system to automate various reports and financial statement lead schedules

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Accounting or Finance
  • 4+ years' experience in finance or accounting role; public accounting experience required
  • CPA or current CPA candidate
  • Experience with SEC reporting
  • Excellent knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles, technical accounting matters and SEC regulations
  • Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting and review of lease documents a plus
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong communication, time management and organizational skills
  • Flexible/adaptable to shifting priorities and scheduling needs to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and perform job functions and assignments with minimal supervision
  • Experience with Workday Financials a plus
  • Experience with ActiveDisclosure or similar reporting platform a plus
