$74,156.16/yr - $107,114.45/yr

CGS is seeking a Senior Financial Investigator to join our team providing legal support and investigative services to a large federal agency.

Skills and attributes for success:

  • Plans and conducts investigations
  • Performs analysis of relevant facts, including quantitative and qualitative data
  • Prepares reports supporting the mission
  • Develops and analyzes evidence from investigators and law enforcement, and gathers information from primary and secondary sources
  • Gathers and analyzes facts like statements, timelines, scientific or technical data to support prosecutorial objectives
  • Verifies relationships among facts and evidence to confirm authenticity and build proof for litigation
  • Provides analysis on violations of federal law, such as money laundering, wire fraud, mail fraud, bank fraud, healthcare fraud, procurement fraud, and other federal program frauds
  • Identifies information sources and variables
  • Conducts asset investigations, verifies employment, and performs financial analysis to ensure potential penalties can be paid
  • Develops understanding of relevant laws to guide investigations
  • Devise methods for obtaining, preserving, and presenting evidence effectively
  • Collaborates with legal teams to identify violations and applicable laws
  • Performs ancillary services supporting cases
  • Uses electronic databases for asset and document identification
  • Prepares reports on investigation progress
  • Assists in document analysis and creating visual materials for court
  • Prepares affidavits and testifies as needed
  • Advises on investigation planning and resource needs
  • Examines financial records and related documents
  • Builds proof through verification of facts and evidence
Qualifications:
  • At least four years of experience in civil or criminal investigations involving misuse of funds
  • Knowledge of investigative techniques and database usage
  • Valid driver's license required
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to pass background checks
Ideally, you will also have:
  • Experience in law enforcement
  • Data analysis and presentation skills
  • Financial records review experience
  • Interviewing skills
  • Experience with federal agencies like the Army or Department of Homeland Security is a plus
