Job summary

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services seeks a Financial Review Auditor to oversee advanced audits of private agencies across the state. The role includes desk reviews, reporting, and supervising staff to ensure compliance with DCFS requirements on fiscal matters.

The ideal candidate will bring strong audit leadership, organizational skills, and experience with GAAP/IFRS and federal regulations, and will join a dedicated team in a fully in-office schedule.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree with coursework in auditing or related subjects.
• Three years of progressive auditing experience or four years audit experience.

Responsibilities

• Serves as Financial Review Auditor.
• Manages and conducts desk reviews of audit reports from private agencies.
• Composes complete and detailed audit reports.
• Serves as full line supervisor.
• Maintains contact with private agency accountants/CPAs for explanations.
• Prepares for audits by reviewing policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
• Provides training to new staff on the audit process and DCFS policies.
