Job summary

Walgreens is seeking an analytics-focused financial professional to serve as the first-line contact for reporting and resolving operational issues with assigned financial services vendors and programs. The role analyzes and reports on financial activities, resolves escalated issues, and participates in projects to improve customer experience and create efficiencies for Walgreens.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher plus analytical experience in finance, accounting, business management, quantitative analysis or economics.
• Experience with financial analysis, modeling, profitability analysis and auditing techniques.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines and organize data effectively.
• Proficient data analysis to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
• Strong Excel skills plus familiarity with PowerPoint and Word.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% for business purposes.

Responsibilities

• Develops complex financial models to support management decisions on new products, profitability, and capital investments.
• Analyzes division financial statements, expenses, and records; provides management with recommendations.
• Performs moderate to complex financial analysis and builds tools to fulfill reporting needs.
• Assists in long-range financial planning and collaborates with Walgreens teams to achieve strategic goals.
• May help develop annual budgets and maintain budgeting templates.
• Uses SAS or other tools to model data when standard tools fall short.
• Reviews monthly operating results to identify trends and variances and partners with other departments for reconciliations.
• Provides information on expenditures and purchasing costs; answers RFP questions with data integrity.
• Performs ad hoc analyses and forecasts for internal and external stakeholders.
• Mentors junior analysts on financial modeling, data extraction, and best practices.
