The Rutgers Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies, part of Rutgers University, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst I to join the finance team in New Brunswick, NJ. The role focuses on financial analysis, budget coordination, and programmatic funding management to support tobacco research initiatives.

The successful candidate will prepare budgets, analyze financial performance, monitor subawards, and ensure expenditures comply with sponsor and university policies.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a relevant field plus four (4) years of progressively more responsible experience in fiscal activities.
• Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
• Ideal candidate will have excellent business acumen, accounting skills, detail-oriented, excellent organizational skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Mansioni

• Prepares budget and forecast for units within the Center based on organization’s performance, estimated revenue, expense reports and past budget numbers.
• Supports the Institution’s annual RBHS budget preparation.
• Prepares financial analyses and consults with project PIs to monitor progress and adjust for program changes; monitors subawards.
• Reviews and approves expenditures of departments to ensure budget compliance and sponsor policy alignment.
• Directs preparation of special budget reports to interpret budget directives and establish policies.
