Job summary

The State of Michigan's MDOT seeks a Financial Specialist 13 to serve as the sole expert for the Bureau of Finance and Administration, analyzing complex reports and studies requested by management. Required is a bachelor’s degree with accounting/finance/economics credits and four years of professional experience in financial analysis, with CPA substitution possible; remote work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 12 semester credits in accounting, finance, or economics.
• Four years of professional experience equivalent to a Financial Analyst; or two years at Financial Analyst P11/Accountant P11/Auditor P11, or one year at Financial Analyst 12/Accountant 12/Auditor 12.
• CPA certification may substitute for one year of Financial Analyst P11 experience.

Responsibilities

• Create complex financial studies and provide expert advice on MDOT’s financial data.
• Develop and manage financial reporting for MDOT program areas; ensure data integrity.
• Serve as liaison to the DTMB for financial reporting data issues; optimize business processes.
