Job summary

State of Michigan seeks a Financial Specialist to act as the sole expert for the Bureau of Finance and Administration in analyzing MDOT’s complex reports and studies requested by management. The role requires extensive SIGMA knowledge and the ability to develop financial reporting across programs while ensuring data integrity.

The incumbent will liaison with DTMB on reporting data issues and help optimize processes. Remote work and alternate schedules may be considered as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 12 credits in accounting, finance or economics.
• Four years of professional experience equivalent to a Financial Analyst; including two years equivalent to Financial Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to Financial Analyst 12.
• CPA certificate may substitute for one year of Financial Analyst P11 experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze MDOT’s financial data and produce complex financial studies for management.
• Develop financial reporting for individual program areas and ensure data integrity.
• Serve as liaison to DTMB for financial reporting data issues and improve business processes.
