Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, auditing, financial reporting, or related finance function.
• Demonstrated experience preparing complex journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting documentation.
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting, financial statement preparation, internal controls, and GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Own personnel expense accounting processes across UI Health Care, including salaries, benefits, and related accruals.
• Prepare and analyze complex journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Develop methodologies to recognize personnel expenses in the correct period and coordinate payroll timing.
• Collaborate with departmental stakeholders to support accurate accruals.
• Prepare pension, OPEB, and compensated absence accounting documentation and entries.
• Manage monthly and year-end close processes for assigned areas within accelerated close timelines.
• Support internal controls narratives, process documentation, and accounting methodologies.
