The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a Financial Analyst focused on Personnel Expense & Financial Reporting. This role supports the monthly and year-end close, handling salaries, benefits, and related liabilities with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

You will partner with HR, Payroll, and department leaders to ensure accurate reporting across enterprise-wide accounts, applying GASB guidance as needed and maintaining well-documented workpapers.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills for financial reporting and close processes.
• Excellent attention to detail in preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and support schedules.
• Ability to partner with Human Resources, Payroll, and clinical/operational stakeholders for accurate reporting.
• Knowledge of PeopleSoft HR and financial data and related feeder systems.
• Familiarity with GASB statements 68, 75, and 101 and applying guidance.

Responsabilités

• Support monthly close processes and year-end close for personnel expenses and related liabilities.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and workpapers for salaries, benefits, and other personnel expenses.
• Develop schedules and narratives for pension, OPEB, and compensated absences; assist audit documentation.
• Analyze personnel expense trends and data quality; investigate variances and unusual activity.
• Collaborate with HR, Payroll, and clinical departments to obtain information for accurate reporting.
