What you'll do

Under limited supervision by the Director of Finance Practitioner Services, the Senior Financial Analyst Medical Group is responsible for planning and supervising the Finance Hospital and Physician Services Department. Critical thinking is essential to support and guide the Bassett Medical Group, patient services, and hospital services regarding the financial impacts of operational and programmatic changes. Responsibilities include supporting the institutional budget process, financial closing, pricing sensitivity reviews, development of metrics, financial data analysis, and reporting mechanisms. Ensures financial integrity and accuracy of hospital accounts, coordinates proforma completion for review by senior leadership, and uses Business Intelligence tools to develop metrics and implement improvements.

1. Recommends and directs objectives, strategies, and tactics for financial operations based on analytic reviews.
2. Develops and recommends systems to maximize efficiencies using current software.
3. Sets objectives and strategies for the annual work plan of the Finance Division.
4. Monitors departmental structure, procedures, and staffing to meet organizational financial needs.
5. Ensures strong financial controls for viability and integrity.
6. Communicates effectively with staff and leadership, sharing important information and feedback.
7. Supervises staff, develops performance standards, and conducts appraisals.
8. Develops operational procedures to oversee financial systems.
9. Presents data confidently in various forums, serving as a knowledgeable resource.
10. Supports staff development through goal setting and talent cultivation.
11. Maintains job descriptions and performance evaluation tools.
12. Collaborates with other divisions and external agencies to address operational issues.
13. Acts independently with investigative and analytical skills.
14. Implements system changes to improve operational efficiency.
15. Participates in policy development related to financial operations.
16. Monitors performance against plans, recommending corrective actions.

24. Develops and implements new financial systems and processes.
25. Participates in hospital revenue cycle initiatives, including RAC processes.
26. Supports software implementations with communication, training, and planning.
27. Acts as backup for senior leadership in divisional meetings.
28. Upholds organizational values and policies, representing the organization externally.
29. Recommends programs/services to enhance customer satisfaction.

What we need from you

Education: 4-year Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or Healthcare Administration required. Experience may substitute for education.

Experience: Minimum 5 years in hospital or physician group financial services required.

Skills: Accounting, accuracy, communication, reading/writing/comprehension, self-motivation, time management.

Physical Requirements: Sedentary work involving sitting most of the time, occasional lifting and movement, and computer use.

Pay Range

Salary depends on qualifications and experience, with a range of USD $79,539.20 to $120,369.60 annually.
