Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a senior financial analyst to own the most complex financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis. You will coordinate multi-project initiatives, develop financial plans, and guide corporate accounting practices with insight into health care costs and trends.

The role requires 5+ years of related experience (or 7+ years without a degree) and advanced Excel skills; Workday experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in financial reporting, analysis and forecasting.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, analyze, and present complex financial forecasts, budgets, plans, and historical performance to support business decision-making.
• Analyze financial performance, expenses, profitability, rate of return, and other key business trends to identify risks and opportunities.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting activities for assigned business units, incorporating historical results, projected revenue, expenses, and business assumptions.
• Perform complex monthly variance analysis, identifying key drivers and providing insights and recommendations to business leaders.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and analyses for senior leadership, executive teams, and other key stakeholders.
• Partner with business leaders as a financial advisor, providing guidance on financial performance, forecasts, policies, and strategic initiatives.
• Support financial analysis for new products, corporate initiatives, and projects, including profitability and competitive impact assessments.
• Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, improve reporting, and increase operational efficiency.
• Provide guidance, problem-solving support, and knowledge sharing to other financial analysts.
