Allison Transmission is seeking an FP&A professional in Indianapolis to analyze complex financial data, support monthly closes, budgets and forecasts, and present insights to leadership. The role emphasizes SAP, Excel, and adherence to US GAAP within a manufacturing finance context.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting or FP&A, strong analytical skills, and the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams to drive financial efficiency and reporting accuracy.

Qualifications

• 5 years in accounting or FP&A function.
• Proficient in SAP and MS Office (Excel) and technology driven.
• US GAAP and Cost Accounting knowledge.
• Ability to plan, implement and administer financial information and control systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to management, Board and Investors relations.
• Perform monthly and quarterly close tasks.
• Assist FP&A supervisor in daily activities.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts; analyze variances and trends.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather information.
• Develop automated tools to increase efficiency.
• Present financial data to stakeholders.
• Prioritize assignments under tight deadlines.
• Ensure reporting adherence to US GAAP and company policies.
• Support SAP BPC for planning and consolidation.
• Create and maintain desk procedures.
• Handle special projects and ad-hoc analyses.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

• Analyze complex financial data in order to complete, accurate, timely and consistent daily, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting to management as well as for Board of Directors and Investors Relations.
• Perform monthly and quarterly financial close tasks to ensure proper cut-off for assets, liabilities, and expenses.
• Assist supervisor in the daily activities for the FP&A department.
• Prepare detailed annual financial budgets and monthly financial forecast and determine financial status by comparing and analyzing results and variances; identifying trends and recommending actions.
• Work with cross-functional organizations to accomplish tasks by coordinating information requirements.
• Increase efficiency by developing automated applications, eliminating redundancies and coordinating information requirements.
• Develop and present financial data to other members of the organization.
• Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time restraints.
• Ensure consistent reporting and adherence to federal and state financial reporting regulations and guidelines, and conformity with company fiscal policies and procedures.
• Perform some administrative functions for the SAP Business Planning and Consolidation, BPC, financial planning system.
• Build and maintain desk procedures.
• Special Projects and ad-hoc analysis as assigned.

Education requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• 5 years in accounting or FP&A function.
• Highly proficient personal digital literacy, Proficient in SAP and MS Office (specifically Excel) and technology driven. Experience with SAP Business, Planning and Consolidation a plus.
• Understanding in the areas of US GAAP, Cost Accounting and Manufacturing finance a plus.
• Ability to plan, implement, and administer financial information and control systems.
• Demonstrates problem solving and analytical abilities on complex topics.
• Strong social skills and proven commitment to teamwork.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time restraints.
