Job summary

Allison Transmission in Indianapolis seeks an FP&A professional to analyze financial data, support monthly closes, and drive budgeting accuracy. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, automation, and clear reporting to leadership.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance or Economics and at least 5 years in accounting or FP&A, with strong SAP and Excel skills; US GAAP knowledge is a plus. This is an on-site role in Indianapolis with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics is required.
• Minimum 5 years in accounting or FP&A.
• Experience with SAP and Excel is highly preferred.
• Understanding US GAAP and manufacturing finance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex financial data to deliver accurate reporting to management, Board, and Investors Relations.
• Perform monthly and quarterly close tasks to ensure proper cut-off of assets, liabilities, and expenses.
• Assist FP&A supervisor in daily activities and budgeting processes.
• Prepare annual budgets and monthly forecasts; identify trends and variances.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and automate processes where possible.
• Present financial data to organizational stakeholders and support decision making.
• Maintain desk procedures and handle special projects as assigned.

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex financial data in order to complete, accurate, timely and consistent daily, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting to management as well as for Board of Directors and Investors Relations.
• Perform monthly and quarterly financial close tasks to ensure proper cut-off for assets, liabilities, and expenses.
• Assist supervisor in the daily activities for the FP&A department.
• Prepare detailed annual financial budgets and monthly financial forecast and determine financial status by comparing and analyzing results and variances; identifying trends and recommending actions.
• Work with cross-functional organizations to accomplish tasks by coordinating information requirements.
• Increase efficiency by developing automated applications, eliminating redundancies and coordinating information requirements.
• Develop and present financial data to other members of the organization.
• Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time restraints.
• Ensure consistent reporting and adherence to federal and state financial reporting regulations and guidelines, and conformity with company fiscal policies and procedures.
• Perform some administrative functions for the SAP Business Planning and Consolidation, BPC, financial planning system.
• Build and maintain desk procedures.
• Special Projects and ad-hoc analysis as assigned.

Education Requirement

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• 5 years in accounting or FP&A function.
• Highly proficient personal digital literacy, Proficient in SAP and MS Office (specifically Excel) and technology driven. Experience with SAP Business, Planning and Consolidation a plus.
• Understanding in the areas of US GAAP, Cost Accounting and Manufacturing finance a plus.
• Ability to plan, implement, and administer financial information and control systems.
• Demonstrates problem solving and analytical abilities on complex topics.
• Strong social skills and proven commitment to teamwork.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time restraints.
