Job summary

Aptiv PLC is seeking an External Reporting Senior Analyst to prepare SEC filings (Form 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) and manage related communications. You will oversee the implementation of ongoing SEC reporting and disclosure requirements, working closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 3-5 years of accounting experience, a CPA or equivalent, and thorough knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing annual and quarterly SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) and XBRL exhibits.
  • Interpret emerging accounting and disclosure requirements for compliance.
  • Prepare financial communications for Audit Committee meetings and investor relations.
  • Review financial information in press releases and investor presentations.
  • Manage and improve the SEC reporting process.
  • Support external audit and SOX compliance activities.
  • Plan and execute special projects as needed.
  • Prepare financial statements for Aptiv Foundation and manage the audit process.

YOUR ROLE

As an External Reporting Senior Analyst on our team, you'll be responsible for preparing SEC filings (Form 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K). Registration statements and responses to SEC comment letters and related communications. You will also manage the implementation and research of ongoing SEC reporting and disclosure requirements.

In your daily job you will:

  • Assist in the preparation of annual and quarterly SEC filings, including XBRL exhibits.
  • Interpret emerging accounting and disclosure requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare financial communications for Audit Committee Meetings and other presentations.
  • Review all financial information included in press releases, investor presentations, and other investor relations documents.
  • Manage and improve the SEC reporting process.
  • Support external audit and review procedures.
  • Assist in SOX compliance documentation and testing as required.
  • Plan, develop, and execute special projects as appropriate.
  • Prepare the financial statements and records for the Aptiv Foundation and manage the audit process.
YOUR BACKGROUND

Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:

Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of SEC rules and regulations.
  • Must be legally able to work in the United States without requirement of any type of visa sponsorship or transfer now, or at any time in the future.
  • Must be a local resident of Metro Detroit, with the ability to work onsite.
Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Experience in both public and corporate accounting (SEC/External Reporting experience preferred).
  • Technical Competency: The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting. Candidate will have demonstrated ability to review or prepare SEC documents including Forms 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K.
  • Leadership Skills: This individual will have the ability to manage the financial reporting. Candidate should be known as an excellent leader and proven ability to work in cross-functional teams. Candidate should have the capability and desire to take on broader roles in the finance organization.
  • Business Acumen: The analyst should have the ability to understand the business implications of financial reporting. Additionally, this individual should understand and manage cultural differences inherent in a highly diverse international business, naturally building relationships across the enterprise through collaboration, consensus building and interpersonal effectiveness.
