Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an analyst to optimize opex savings across AMZL/NASC capital investments and partner with diverse teams to drive informed decisions.

You will influence forecasts, develop scalable processes, and strengthen controllership across multiple business units while supporting planning cycles and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
• 3+ years of applying KPIs to analyses experience.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or MBA and 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience.

Responsibilities

• This role focuses on the opex savings of AMZL & NASC engineering capital investments. Partner with and influence business partners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to an ever-changing environment. Partner on WBR, MBR, QBR, and planning cycles.
• Collaborate with stakeholders from finance analysts to program/project managers to executives across multiple business units to align on opex savings for forecasts and actuals, providing strong controllership.
• Prioritize high-priority work and projects to maximize results for key stakeholders while solving complex problems affecting company-wide decisions.
• Design and build processes and implement mechanisms that improve automation and scalability of the activities.
• Make thoughtful time management decisions independently, meet deadlines, and seek feedback from your manager.
• Drives own self-development in the Finance Community by participating in events, initiatives, and projects.

Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is undergoing growth at an unprecedented level on a global scale. AMZL is Amazon's \"Last Mile\" delivery service, responsible for delivering packages to households and businesses across the planet. North American Sort Centers (NASC) is the \"Middle Mile\" part of the Amazon transportation organization which enables next day free delivery for Prime members and 7 days a week delivery for our customers. Every day several million packages from multiple fulfillment centers across the US and Canada arrive in one of the ~100 sort centers where they are sorted to specific AMZL delivery locations, improving truck utilization & shipping times, and reducing transportation costs - our growing presence in the this space led Amazon to be one of the top 5 transportation operators on the planet.

Key job responsibilities

• This role focuses on the opex savings of AMZL & NASC engineering capital investments. Success in this role requires you to partner with and influence business partners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to an ever-changing environment. Partner on WBR, MBR, QBR, and planning cycles.


• You will collaborate with all types of stakeholders, from other finance analysts, to program/project managers, to executives, across multiple business units within Amazon to collect key information to align on the opex savings of capital investments for forecasts and actuals. You bring best-in-class business partnership while providing strong controllership.


• You use judgment to prioritize high-priority work and projects that maximize results for key stakeholders, while helping to solve complex problems that affect company-wide decisions.


• Design and build processes & implement mechanisms that improve the level of automation and scalability of the aforementioned activities.


• Makes thoughtful time management decisions independently. Prioritizes work, resolves issues, meets deadlines, and seeks feedback from your manager. Discerns between urgent and non-urgent issues and acts accordingly to solve them.


• Drives own self-development in the Finance Community: seeks opportunities to expand finance expertise. Participates in events, initiatives, and projects, then shares gained knowledge in and outside of your team.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience


• 3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience


• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or MBA and 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience


• MBA, or CPA


• Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
