Job summary

Google is seeking a Financial Analyst in Sunnyvale, CA to support Technical Infrastructure finance. You will analyze budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics, partnering with data-center design engineering and leadership teams to drive informed decisions.

The role requires strong FP&A expertise, quantitative background, and experience shaping strategic financial plans in a multinational environment. Competitive compensation includes bonus targets and equity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years FP&A, consulting, or related function.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and modeling in a multinational company.
  • Experience with business partnerships, strategy development, and leadership presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize risks and allocate resources to minimize risk and maximize opportunities.
  • Act as finance partner for data center design engineering organization.
  • Architect, defend, and maintain sophisticated financial models and perform NPV analyses.
  • Drive large, matrixed programs with robust financial controls and cost optimization across the fleet.
  • Identify optimization opportunities to reduce costs and enhance competitiveness.

Job description

Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.
  • Experience executing full-cycle FP&A functions including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and modeling within a multinational company setting.
  • Experience with business partnerships, strategy development, and leadership presentations.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience in data center infrastructure design finance modeling within a fast-paced technology company.
  • Experience translating complex engineering concepts into disciplined financial projections.
  • Experience with building data infrastructure (e.g., designing architecture, building data pipelines, implementing scalable monitoring) and implementing reporting solutions.
  • Experience in developing strategies in fast-paced competitive environments, impeccable business judgment for resource allocation decisions to achieve the desired business outcome.
  • Ability to work with data to produce analysis, influencing decision making with numerical analysis and generating insights.

  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize risks followed by coordinated and economical application of resources to minimize, monitor, and control the probability or impact of unfortunate events or to maximize the realization of opportunities.
  • Act as finance partner for data center design engineering organization.
  • Architect, defend, and maintain sophisticated financial models. Conduct investment and Net Present Value (NPV) analyses on next-generation technical infrastructure to enable structured savings.
  • Drive large, matrixed programs spanning multiple organizations, ensuring robust financial controls, process optimization, and risk mitigation across the fleet.
  • Identify and advocate optimization opportunities that bend the cost curve downward, providing Google with a distinct technical and financial competitive advantage.
