Ein Tag im Leben

This role serves as a member of the Cardiovascular Portfolio Controller team, which is responsible for systems, processes, and procedures associated with closing the books and supporting the control environment.

This position will report directly to the Cardiovascular Portfolio Controller. This position will support the Cardiovascular Portfolio operating units (OU) through performance of month-end close activities and OU financial reporting & analysis.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  1. Manual journal entries, IDCMs, Balance sheet reconciliation preparation, closing activities
  2. Coordinate the accumulation, preparation and approval of post-close journal entries for CV
  3. Responsible for royalty accounting, including forecasting, timely and accurate calculation of payments, accruals, tracking receipt of cash, business partnering with legal teams.
  4. Liaison with OU Finance and Business development on new / existing agreements and quarterly review of all ongoing agreements.
  5. Responsible for managing, coordinating, and assisting on accounting activities with our Shared Service Centers
  6. Participate in the monthly and quarterly financial close process and provide general ledger and analytics support to management by performing various ad-hoc variance analysis, compilation of monthly reports and preparation of closing packages.
  7. Responsible for the maintenance of assigned balance sheet accounts (e.g. intangible assets, royalty accruals, etc.) for multiple reporting entities in accordance with company policies and GAAP, including identification and appropriate classification of business activity and account reconciliation.
  8. Perform additional financial analysis for special projects upon request.
  9. Perform annual analysis to determine the appropriate revenue deferral associated with Carelink service. Responsible for communicating the results of this analysis to leadership.
  10. Driving process improvement projects to ensure consistency and efficiency of activities within CV finance and controllership, while maintaining a high-quality account and control environment and ensuring compliance with all corporate financial reporting & accounting policies.
  11. Maintain and/or oversee the control of accounts and records in the areas of revenues, expenses, disbursements, and other associated balance sheet accounts
  12. Provide Cardiovascular Portfolio-level support to internal and external audit, corporate accounting, and tax departments

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting OR Advanced Degree with 2+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting

Salary ranges for U.S locations (USD): $83,200.00 - $124,800.00. This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
