Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst - BI Reporting

Environment: Remote with travel (5% to 10%)

Eligible Locations: Texas, Georgia, Virginia, Missouri, Colorado

Our client is a mid-size (~$200MM) law firm known for its top-tier legal services across various industries. They prioritize a collaborative and inclusive culture that empowers employees to grow professionally and make significant contributions. Due to growth, the firm is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to lead financial reporting and business intelligence initiatives. The ideal candidate will be proficient in data analysis and financial reporting, with strong technical skills in SQL, DAX, and Power BI.

The role involves transforming financial data into actionable insights, improving reporting processes, conducting profitability analyses, and managing financial systems. It offers exposure to a wide range of business and litigation services, providing opportunities for cross-practice analysis and strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will contribute to critical financial intelligence systems that drive firm performance.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain advanced financial reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI, focusing on timekeeper statistics, matter profitability, and practice area performance metrics.
2. Collaborate with the Controller during month-end close processes for 3E Cloud, ensuring data integrity and producing monthly financial reports.
3. Conduct detailed practice area analyses across diverse services, identifying trends and insights.
4. Create clear visual presentations of financial data for stakeholders, from practice leaders to executives.
5. Co-administer financial reporting platforms including 3E Cloud and Data Insights, performing quality assurance and managing user access.
6. Develop and optimize SQL queries and DAX expressions for custom reports tailored to practice needs.
7. Create documentation for financial reporting procedures to enhance workflows and establish best practices.
8. Support financial systems upgrades and implementations with minimal disruption.
9. Analyze WIP and AR trends across multiple dimensions, focusing on fee arrangement types and practice areas.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years in financial analysis and business intelligence, with at least 2 years in a law firm or professional services environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, data analytics, accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Certifications in Power BI, SQL, or Data Analysis preferred.
• Experience working with diverse practice areas and fee arrangements.
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling, dashboards, and DAX.
• Strong SQL skills for writing and optimizing complex queries.
• Experience with Elite 3E Cloud and Data Insights platforms preferred.
