Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst - BI Reporting

Environment: Remote with travel (5% to 10%)

About the Company

Our client is a mid-size law firm (~$200MM) known for top-tier legal services across various industries. They promote a collaborative and inclusive culture that supports professional growth and significant contributions. The firm is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to lead financial reporting and BI initiatives, with skills in SQL, DAX, and Power BI.

Role Overview

This role involves transforming financial data into insights, improving reporting processes, conducting profitability analyses, and managing financial systems. It offers exposure to diverse legal services and strategic decision-making, contributing to the firm's performance through critical financial intelligence systems.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain advanced financial reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI, focusing on timekeeper statistics, matter profitability, and practice area performance metrics.
  2. Collaborate with the Controller during month-end close processes for 3E Cloud, ensuring data integrity and preparing financial reports.
  3. Perform detailed practice area analyses, identifying trends and performance insights.
  4. Create visual presentations of financial data for stakeholders at all levels.
  5. Manage financial reporting platforms including 3E Cloud and Data Insights, ensuring quality and security.
  6. Develop and optimize SQL queries and DAX expressions for custom reports.
  7. Document financial reporting procedures to enhance workflow and consistency.
  8. Support system upgrades and implementations with minimal disruption.
  9. Analyze WIP and AR trends across multiple dimensions and fee arrangements.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years in financial analysis and BI, with at least 2 years in a law firm or professional services.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, data analytics, accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications in Power BI, SQL, or Data Analysis preferred.
  • Experience with diverse practice areas and fee arrangements.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling, dashboards, and DAX.
  • Strong SQL skills for complex query writing and optimization.
  • Experience with Elite 3E Cloud and Data Insights preferred.
