Amazon in Seattle seeks a seasoned Senior Financial Analyst for the AWS Services FP&A team to own analytics and insights for Services' financial performance. You will lead cross-functional planning and communicate with senior executives to influence decisions.

Responsibilities include leading multi-billion dollar planning cycles, driving opex/capex reporting, and building automated reporting processes. 3+ years in finance with SQL proficiency and a related degree are required.

The AWS Services FP&A team is looking for a seasoned Senior Financial Analyst to be part of a critical, high-growth area of the business. The person in the role will own the processes, analytics, and generate business insights for Services' financial performance. The role requires a self-starter who can exhibit thought leadership, develop processes, communicate with senior executives, and collaborate across teams. In addition to traditional functional Finance skills, this role requires the ability to lead cross-functional teams and exercise influence to coordinate key planning workstreams and projects. 'Learn and be Curious' is also key, and this role gives the opportunity to develop a good business understanding of the key AWS services planning and reporting processes.

Key job responsibilities

• Leading the planning cycles for a multi-billion dollar business.
• Driving reporting for opex and capex.
• Deep-diving variances vs. plan to understand changes and uncover opportunities for efficiency improvement.
• Leading cross-functional projects involving finance and tech teams.
• Setting up processes and automating reporting.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of finance, accounting, or related analytical field experience
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, tax, economics, or a related analytical field
• 3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
• 3+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
• 3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
• Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
• MBA, or CPA
• Knowledge of Tableau
• Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
• Six Sigma Black Belt
• Experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer, or experience as a lean sensei
