Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Seattle is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst for the AWS Services FP&A team to own planning processes, analytics, and business insights for Services' financial performance.

You will lead cross-functional teams, communicate with senior executives, and drive planning workstreams while developing a deep understanding of AWS services planning and reporting processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field.
  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
  • 4+ years creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience.
  • 4+ years building financial/operational reports informing decisions.
  • 4+ years of continuous improvement projects to scale controllership.

The AWS Services FP&A team is looking for a seasoned Senior Finance Analyst to be part of a critical, high-growth area of the business. The person in the role will own the processes, analytics, and generate business insights for Services' financial performance. The role requires a self-starter who can exhibit thought leadership, develop processes, communicate with senior executives, and collaborate across teams. In addition to traditional functional Finance skills, this role requires the ability to lead cross-functional teams and exercise influence to coordinate key planning workstreams and projects. This role gives the opportunity to develop a good business understanding of the key AWS services planning and reporting processes.

Key job responsibilities
  • Leading the planning cycles for a multi-billion dollar business.
  • Deep-diving variances vs. plan to understand changes and uncover opportunities for efficiency improvement.
  • Leading cross-functional projects involving finance and tech teams.
  • Setting up processes and automating reporting.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
  • 4+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
