Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to partner with the Peripheral Vascular Health Clinical Research organization in a largely onsite environment.   • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics is required or advanced degree with relevant experience.
  • Experience in financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and analysis.
  • Experience developing financial models and managing complex budgets.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to support business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Clinical Research leadership to support financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and business decisions.
  • Lead financial planning and analysis for pre-market and post-market clinical study portfolios.
  • Develop and maintain financial models for study design, enrollment assumptions, timelines, and spending forecasts.
  • Monitor study activity with Clinical Research, Medical Science, and Operations to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Provide budgeting support for external research and investigator-sponsored programs.
  • Deliver consolidated reporting, KPIs, and portfolio insights to leadership.
  • Improve forecasting processes and analytical tools for the clinical research organization.

A Day in the Life

The Peripheral Vascular Health Clinical Research organization supports the development and clinical validation of therapies for peripheral and carotid artery disease, end-stage renal disease, venous disease, and peripheral embolization. The team manages a portfolio of pre-market and post-market clinical studies and partners closely with Clinical Research, Medical Science, Research & Development, and Finance teams to support investment decisions, regulatory milestones, and portfolio execution.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will serve as a finance partner supporting the Peripheral Vascular Health Clinical Research organization. You will lead financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and portfolio analysis activities across a clinical study portfolio while providing financial insights that support strategic investment and operational decisions.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Partner with Clinical Research leadership to support financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and business decision-making.
  • Lead financial planning and analysis for pre-market and post-market clinical study portfolios.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models supporting study design, enrollment assumptions, project timelines, and spending forecasts.
  • Partner with Clinical Research, Medical Science, and Operations teams to monitor study activity and improve forecast accuracy.
  • Provide financial planning, reporting, and tracking support for external research and investigator-sponsored research programs.
  • Support clinical budget allocation decisions based on business priorities, study requirements, and resource needs.
  • Deliver consolidated financial reporting, key performance indicators (KPIs), and portfolio insights to leadership teams.
  • Identify and implement improvements to forecasting processes, financial reporting, and analytical tools supporting the clinical research organization.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of finance or accounting experience OR advanced degree and 2+ years of finance or accounting experience.
  • Experience in financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Experience developing financial models and managing complex budgets.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to support business decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
  • Experience supporting clinical research, research and development (R&D), product development, or clinical study portfolios.
  • Experience with clinical study financial modeling, portfolio management, or large-scale program budgeting.
  • Experience operating within a matrixed organization and partnering across Clinical, Medical, Research & Development, Operations, and Finance teams.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or experience within the medical device, healthcare, or other regulated industries.

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$88,000.00 - $132,000.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
