Job summary

Chewy is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to provide financial leadership at our Phoenix Fulfillment Center. Located on-site, you will work with the local leadership team to improve performance and meet financial commitments within a fast-paced, network-wide operations environment.

You will deliver insight, modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analyses to drive profitability and strategic planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Information Systems required.
  • 3+ years of related experience in Operations, Finance, logistics and FC/distribution environments.
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills with experience in business case development, forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced MS Office Suite skills; Excel proficiency required.
  • Ability to think creatively, work independently and in teams with limited resources and time.
  • Willing to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver business insight, reporting, and analysis to the General Manager and regional leadership.
  • Influence decision-making through cross-functional partnerships.
  • Pursue continuous improvement in Operations, Supply Chain, Accounting, and Finance.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, target setting, annual planning, and risk/opportunity analyses.
  • Manage planning for variable labor within the fulfillment center to meet cost and service goals.
  • Collaborate with data sources and technology teams to ensure timely, accurate data.
  • Partner with peers at other locations to support network initiatives.
  • Oversee FC monthly close process following Chewy policies.
  • Support Capital Planning with financial analysis, cost/benefit tracking, and business case development.

Job Description: Our Opportunity: Chewy seeks a motivated and independent Senior Financial Analyst to provide financial leadership to an exciting and fast-paced Fulfillment Center (FC). This is an essential position at one of the network's fulfillment centers located in Phoenix, AZ. As the company grows, this role within the Finance organization represents a fundamental building block in Chewy's enterprise performance management and profitability improvement efforts. As Senior Financial Analyst, you will be located at the fulfillment center, working with the leadership team on-site to improve performance and meet or exceed financial commitments.

What You’ll Do:
  • Deliver business insight, reporting, and analysis to the General Manager and their management team as well as the regional leadership team
  • Participate in the ongoing management of the business and influence decision‑making through solid relationships built with your cross‑functional business partners
  • Pursue continuous improvement in all areas of the business with an emphasis on Operations, Supply Chain, Accounting, and Finance
  • Contribute to the strategic planning, target setting, and annual planning processes, and perform risk and opportunities analyses to support resource allocations
  • Manage the planning process for variable labor within the fulfillment center, ensuring Chewy can exceed customer expectations at the lowest possible cost
  • Collaborate with data source providers and technology teams to ensure that critical decision data is accurate and timely
  • Partner with peers at other locations to support network initiatives that may require you to visit or partner with management teams at different locations
  • Oversee the FC's monthly close process, ensuring books and records are accurately maintained following Chewy's policies and procedures
  • Support Capital Planning process, including financial analysis, cost/benefit tracking, and business case development
What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Information Systems degree required.
  • 3+ years of related experience (Operations, Finance, logistics) and a firm grasp of finance Fulfillment, distribution center, industrial manufacturing, or operations experience
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills and experience in supporting business case development, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced MS Office Suite skills; required proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to think creatively, work independently and as part of a team to solve problems given limited resources and time, have a strong work ethic and adhere to deadlines
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Bonus:
  • Experience with financial systems (SAP, Hyperion, NAV, Oracle)
  • Advanced skills with relational databases (e.g., Access, SQL)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, MicroStrategy)
