The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financial records in accordance with GAAP. Reporting to the Controller, this role leads the monthly close cycle, prepares and reviews journal entries and account reconciliations, and delivers timely management reporting. The Senior Financial Analyst provides technical guidance to support staff, supports external audits, and partners cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and Payroll to ensure accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate combines technical proficiency with strong analytical judgment and a commitment to continuous process improvement.

Essential Functions:
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP
- Prepare and analyze variance reports, investigating and explaining significant fluctuations in account balances month over month
- Own balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items on a timely basis
- Support external audits by preparing schedules, responding to auditor requests, and maintaining organized workpaper documentation
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and systems
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and assist in the development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, payroll, and FP&A to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting
- Maintains compliance with all PTL policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with exposure to both public accounting and industry preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) and advanced Excel skills
- Experience with month-end close processes and financial statement preparation
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting findings to management
- A collaborative mindset with a willingness to mentor and develop junior team members
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred
