Job summary

Avnet, a global technology distributor, is seeking a Financial Analyst to report, analyze and interpret financial and operating data for accounting and business operations.

You will build financial models, produce forecasts, and support planning decisions. Candidates should have 5+ years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree; GAAP knowledge and experience with BI tools are a plus. Local Phoenix area candidates preferred.

• Typically 5+ years of experience in finance/analytical roles.
• Knowledge of GAAP and complex accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Provides analytical support including P&L projections, budgeting and cost analysis.
• Performs profitability analysis by product/region to guide strategic decisions.
• Builds dynamic financial models to forecast gross margins under various scenarios.
• Develops and distributes monthly forecasting reports and dashboards.

We are looking for local candidates to the greater Phoenix, AZ area.

Job Summary:

Reports, analyzes and interprets financial and operating data for accounting and business operations management. Generates financial forecasts and creates financial models to support the organization's financial and business planning decisions.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Provides analytical support to management to include Profit and Loss (P&L) projections/forecasts, scenario planning, ratio analysis, budgeting, and cost analysis related to business models.
• Performs economic research and studies in the areas of rates of return, depreciations, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance and impact of governmental requirements.
• Automated margin variance reporting dashboards using PowerBI, SQL, Tableau, etc
• Conducting profitability analysis by customer segment and region to guide executive strategic planning.
• Built dynamic financial models to forecast gross margin sensitivity under varying raw material cost scenarios
• Responds to information requests from internal customers and others as assigned.
• Develops financial reports for forecasting, trending, and narrative results analysis for management.
• Develops and distributes standard and ad-hoc monthly reporting.
• Reviews and analyzes reports in order to verify results.
• Works with management to develop, monitor and report-out on key performance indicators for the business.
• Assists with the development, preparation, and presentation of short- and long-range financial plans.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Develops solutions to complex problems where analysis of situations and/or data requires in-depth evaluation of variables. Determine best approach to achieve results and provide suggestions to improve policies and procedures.

• May represent the organization as a primary contact on assignments and/or projects. Interacts with senior professionals and management and frequently coordinates work between departments or organizations.
• Actions may impact the organization. Failure to accomplish work will result in the inability to reach crucial organizational goals. Erroneous decisions may have a prolonged effect resulting in the expenditure of substantial resources.

Work Experience:

• Typically 5+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.

Education and Certification(s):

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

• Knowledge of GAAP and complex accounting systems
