Abbott is seeking an experienced FP&A professional for an onsite role in Alameda, CA. You will manage month-end close for Global Quality Assurance and Compliance, perform forecasting, analyze expenses, and ensure robust internal controls. A background in finance and SAP/Power BI is preferred.

The position emphasize analytical rigor, cross-functional collaboration, and providing senior management with actionable financial insights to support strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting or economics.
• 3-5 years financial analysis / FP&A experience.
• Ability to plan, implement, and administer financial information and systems.
• Knowledge of integrated financial analysis and reporting.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Month-end close process for Global Quality Assurance and Compliance in Alameda, CA.
• Prepare and validate journal entries with Finance teams.
• Actuals reporting and variance analysis (actuals vs forecast).
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and explain fluctuations quarterly.
• Forecasting and analysis of operating, capital and project expenses and balance sheet.
• Manage assets and internal controls within the area.
• Collaborate with Global QA & Compliance on forecasting and business support.
• Develop and implement processes to support senior management decision-making.

This is an onsite opportunity in Alameda, CA.

What You’ll Do

• Responsible for the month-end close process of Global Quality Assurance and Compliance area based in Alameda, CA in compliance with Division and Corporate reporting requirements including among others:
• Preparation and validation of journal entries (including interaction with Genpact and Corporate Financial Services teams)
• Actuals reporting and analysis of actual vs forecast
• Responsible for ensuring balance sheet accounts are reconciled as per agreed timings, explaining balance sheet fluctuations and review resulting analysis with the Assistant Controller at least quarterly.
• Perform the forecasting, and analysis function for operating expenses, capital and project expenses, and balance sheet for Global Quality Assurance and Compliance area.
• Responsible for the assets management of Global Quality Assurance and Compliance area based in Alameda including assets settlement and periodic asset verification.
• Ensure adequate internal controls are followed.
• Manage a liaison relationship with Global Quality Assurance and Compliance area providing guidance and support in finance related matters for proper forecasting and business support.
• Participate in ad hoc/periodic meetings and projects from Global Quality Assurance and Compliance.
• Responsible for establishing, developing, and implementing appropriate processes and procedures to ensure that the financial planning process provides for efficient and effective decision support tools for senior management.

Experience You'll Bring

• Bachelor's Degree (preferably in finance, accounting or economics)
• 3-5 years financial analysis / FP&A experience
• Ability to plan, implement, and administer financial information and systems
• Knowledge of the principles, processes and standards for integrated financial analysis and reporting.
• Highly Proficient in MS Office especially Excel
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret financial data to make recommendations as well as problem solve

Preferred

• Master's Degree / MBA preferred
• Experience with SAP, Hyperion EssBase, and Power BI

Pay Range

The base pay for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
