Job description

The Senior Financial Aid Specialist - Compliance supports the Financial Aid function at Herzing University with policy, procedure, technology, and process optimization needs. This role requires high attention to detail and technical proficiency. The Senior Specialist serves on the Financial Aid Compliance Team within the Home Office division of Financial Aid.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree preferred. High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ Years of Title IV administration experience preferred. Minimum 1 year of experience required.
• Additional preferred experience includes:
• Experience with administration of state and external funding sources.
• Experience with automated systems and processes.
• Experience with policy, procedure, and data system development using automation.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional regulations related to financial aid.

Pay: Compensation is based on qualifications, experience, and circumstances. The hourly range is $27.80 to $37.61. Benefits include tuition waiver, health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform internal audits of various funding programs and collaborate on staff training.
• Analyze and recommend improvements to Financial Aid processes leveraging technology.
• Support system upgrades through UAT by designing test plans and executing testing.
• Partner on budget utilization, staffing, and resource management across campuses.
• Maintain the FWS Tracker and resolve issues promptly.
• Configure Financial Aid software for award year, fund, and document setup.
• Support Financial Aid staff with troubleshooting and policy review.
