We are looking for a strategic, hands‑on Systems Engineer to lead the next wave of finance technology transformation at Block. This role owns the architecture and scaling of the technology stack that powers our core financial engine across Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Procurement, and FP&A. We operate with an AI‑first engineering mindset. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in financial systems architecture (Oracle Fusion) combined with a product‑thinking approach, utilizing AI‑assisted development to automate financial workflows and compress delivery cycles. You will partner closely with business leaders, product managers, and data engineers to drive high‑impact transformation across Oracle Fusion, in‑house applications, integration platforms, and enterprise LLMs.
Embed AI‑assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot) into your daily workflow to accelerate delivery velocity.
Design and maintain robust data models and solution architectures across Oracle FAH, GL, SLA, and BIP to support complex accounting operations and downstream reporting.
Architect, build, and support seamless integrations between accounting systems, data lakes, and internal applications using SQL, PL/SQL and integration technologies (REST, SOAP, JSON).
Actively identify system inefficiencies and deploy automation to scale financial workflows, decoupling business growth from manual operational overhead.
Translate complex accounting principles and business requirements into concrete, scalable technical designs and comprehensive documentation.
Proven hands‑on experience configuring, customizing, and supporting Oracle FAH, GL, SLA, and BIP.
Strong proficiency in relational databases, advanced SQL/PL/SQL, and web services (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML).
Demonstrated experience in accounting process transformations, financial data modeling, and end‑to‑end solution architecture.
Ability to navigate complex organizational dependencies, breaking down technical debt into streamlined, automated processes.
You are as comfortable advising senior leaders on the art of the possible leveraging a combination of off the shelf platforms like Oracle and in‑house built solutions.
Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally with Accounting, Data Engineering, Product management and Integration teams to deliver unified, automated enterprise solutions.
A relentless drive to leverage AI and platform automation to compress financial close cycles and expand operating margins.
