Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

This role is based onsite at our flagship campus in Sydney.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. This will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

About the IT Group & Team:

The Information Technology (IT) Supergroup’s vision is to maximise the potential of every Canvanaut through world-class technology & service. We realise our vision through our mission pillars to evolve business operations, accelerate productivity and future-proof our foundations which serve as the basis for the IT strategies we execute upon.

As part of the Business Platforms Group that sits within the IT Supergroup, the Finance & Legal Systems team supports the evaluation, implementation, administration, and ongoing innovation of the technology stack across the Finance and Legal domains.

Our team is solving some of Canva’s biggest challenges by automating and improving the quality of our Finance and Legal processes to allow our employees to do their best work at a place they love.

About the role:

This highly critical role is ideal for a motivated individual who leverages fact-based analysis and creative thinking to solve problems. In this role, you will be expected to shape the long-term Anaplan roadmap and connected planning strategy to scale financial forecasting as Canva transitions towards becoming a public company.

You will work closely with the Finance team as well as collaborate with other teams across Canva such as the Data & Analytics Team and Business Data Platform Team. You will also be a key point of contact with our third-party service providers (e.g., Anaplan) to manage performance, system upgrades, and adherence to our data privacy and best practice control requirements.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and optimise scalable Anaplan models to enhance financial forecasting, scenario planning, and strategic decision-making.
  • Establish and maintain best practices for model architecture, data integration, and performance optimisation.
  • Oversee system administration, including user access management, security controls, and governance frameworks to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
  • Drive system reliability, ensuring uptime and performance align with business-critical financial processes.
  • Partner with FP&A and business teams to continuously improve forecasting models, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of financial data.
  • Mentor and coach junior Anaplan model builders and Finance team members on best practices in model design, data integration, and governance.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand evolving business needs and translate them into scalable model solutions.
  • Manage data flows between Anaplan and other enterprise systems (ERP, data warehouse, BI tools) to ensure seamless integration and real-time insights.
  • Establish robust data governance practices, ensuring data integrity and consistency across all financial models.

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Anaplan model building, including designing, implementing, and maintaining complex financial models.
  • Anaplan Certified Solution Architect (or at least Anaplan Level 3 Certified Model Builder with strong practical experience in architecture and best practices).
  • Proven experience in scaling Anaplan models to support a high-growth, fast-paced environment, ideally within a public company or pre-IPO setting.
  • Deep understanding of Anaplan architecture, including data hubs, connected planning, ALM (Application Lifecycle Management), and security best practices.
  • Strong experience integrating Anaplan with ERP, data warehouses, and BI tools via APIs, ETL, or middleware solutions.
  • Expertise in data modelling, multidimensional calculations, and model optimisation to ensure performance efficiency.
  • Solid understanding of FP&A processes, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modelling.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL) is a plus for automation and advanced data transformation.
  • Experience working with finance teams to translate business needs into scalable Anaplan solutions.
  • Exposure to public company reporting standards, SOX compliance, and audit requirements is a plus.

What's in it for you?

Achieving our crazy big goals motivates us to work hard, but you'll experience lots of moments of magic, connectivity, and fun woven throughout life at Canva, too. We also offer a stack of benefits to set you up for every success in and outside of work.

Here's a taste of what's on offer:

  • Equity packages - we want our success to be yours too.
  • Inclusive parental leave policy that supports all parents & carers.
  • An annual Vibe & Thrive allowance to support your wellbeing, social connection, office setup & more.
  • Flexible leave options that empower you to be a force for good, take time to recharge and support you personally.
