Job Description Summary

This role is for a specialist in technical, statutory insurance accounting at ERAC, Employers Reinsurance Corporation, a corporate holding of GE Aerospace. We are a reinsurance company supporting long-term care insurance, structured settlements, life insurance, and other insurance products.

The successful candidate will drive technical accounting compliance, oversee financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis. They will interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services. Staying informed of industry trends that may influence work is essential. This role is available remotely anywhere in the US or at our Overland Park, KS location.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Guidance and Compliance: Provide guidance to finance teams on statutory accounting, filings, and regulatory requirements. Assist in ensuring timely, efficient, and compliant statutory filings.
2. Expertise Development: Grow expertise within the function, influence policy, and provide thought leadership. Link with other organizational functions.
3. Leadership in Projects: Lead or support projects with moderate complexity, such as NAIC’s Principles-Based Bond Definition and Group Capital Calculation. Present solutions to leadership.
4. Communication and Negotiation: Communicate complex messages, influence peers, and negotiate with internal and external partners.
5. Problem Solving: Lead creative solutions for complex problems, evaluate information quality, and utilize internal and external resources for decision-making.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited university or college
• Strong knowledge of statutory and insurance regulatory requirements
• Experience in technical controllership within the insurance industry, particularly with Life & Health products
• Experience in preparing statutory financial statements and working with auditors
