Job summary

Acadia Insurance, a Berkley company, seeks an experienced Controller to lead financial accounting and reporting, ensuring timely GAAP and statutory statements, and driving data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities include overseeing the General Ledger, month-end and quarterly close, and SOX compliance, with collaboration across departments and senior leadership. A CPA/CPCU is a plus, and extensive finance experience is required.

Qualifications

• 10 years minimum in finance/accounting roles.
• 5+ years leading financial reporting & operations teams.
• Public accounting experience and P&C insurance industry exposure preferred.
• Experience with Essbase, OBIEE, PowerBI and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze the Company’s financial statements on GAAP and statutory bases.
• Manage the General Ledger and month/quarter close processes.
• Aggregate data from multiple sources and develop meaningful reports.
• Present financial analysis to senior management and stakeholders.
• Oversee audits, SOX controls, and coordination with external/internal auditors.
