Job summary

Vaco/Highspring’s client in the United States is seeking a Controller/Director of Finance to lead the full‑cycle accounting and financial reporting across multiple entities. You will manage month‑end closes, oversee core accounting operations, and drive project costing, WIP reporting, and profitability analysis.

You will partner with executives to shape strategy, optimize operations, and strengthen controls while scaling the finance function for growth.

Qualifications

• CPA designation required or CPA eligible.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Management level experience.
• Strong job costing and project accounting background (Construction industry highly preferred).
• Well-rounded skillset (Accounting/Reporting, FP&A, Strategy).

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle accounting and financial reporting across multiple entities.
• Manage month-end and year-end closes with statements, reconciliations and schedules.
• Oversee A/P, A/R, payroll, GL, and cash management.
• Direct project accounting: job costing, WIP, revenue recognition, profitability analysis.
• Partner with project managers to provide financial insights and improve reporting.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting, cash flow projections and models.
• Prepare analyses and KPIs for senior leadership; support strategic decisions.
• Identify process improvements, automation, and system enhancements.
