Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Mission Planning Test Engineer at Eglin AFB, FL, to support the USAF in flight test and mission planning activities. You will apply fighter mission planning expertise, lead testing efforts, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure system readiness.

The role requires a Secret clearance, US citizenship, and experience with fighter aircraft and mission planning tools like JMPS. Expect travel and extended hours to meet critical mission deadlines.

Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance required with ability to obtain Top Secret.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Must have thorough knowledge of Air Force, Navy, or Marine Corps fighter aircraft & experience as a fighter aircrew member.
• Operational experience as Pilot or WSO in F-15, F-16, F/A-18, F-35, or F-22.
• Military fighter Mission Planning experience required.
• Proven ability to lead a team and direct others; strong written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide fighter mission planning domain expertise.
• Plan tests, establish criteria, assess effectiveness, and investigate unusual testing conditions.
• Support software production, design, or procurement related to fighter mission planning.
• Possess operational fighter and mission planning experience using JMPS or similar systems.
• Maintain knowledge of tested software and future versions.
• Normal schedule is 40 hours per week; extended hours may be required.
