Job summary

Astrion is seeking a TEST ENGINEER A/A to support the 780th Test Squadron at EGLIN AFB, FL. A successful candidate will bring a Master’s in engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience and hold an active Secret clearance with SAP eligibility, to lead test planning, documentation, and execution.

The role involves coordinating with DoD stakeholders, conducting tests on air-to-air/air-to-surface weapons, and acting as Test Conductor during missions.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in engineering or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant experience; education may substitute for some experience.
• Active Secret clearance with eligibility for Special Access Programs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and technical writing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Establishes standards for test documentation and technical reporting.
• Provides technical review of test directives, methods of test, data packages, reports, and communications.
• Presents test strategy, objectives, and procedures at boards and safety reviews.
• Manages engineering duties related to development, evaluation, and joint test programs on air-to-air/air-to-surface weapons.
• Develops test planning documentation for emerging weapon programs and coordinates with flight leadership.
• Supports the Flight Chief with technical and administrative duties.
• Represents the Squadron and USAF in conferences with partners and external commands on test and evaluation matters.
• Forecasts test assets and range requirements; coordinates with program offices and contractors.
• Briefs and debriefs aircrew on mission execution and testing requirements.
• Acts as Test Conductor during test mission execution.
