Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. seeks a skilled field professional to walk rights of way, inspect distribution lines, and support survey and maintenance operations. You will carry essential surveying tools, clear brush where needed, and work with crews to share information and resolve issues on site.

The role emphasizes applying technical knowledge, communicating clearly, and continually improving processes while building experience in utility construction and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering Technology plus 10+ years of utility industry experience.
• Extensive knowledge of equipment, materials, systems and business processes.
• Moderate computer literacy skills and ability to learn new systems.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Walk rights of way over varied terrain to patrol distribution line damage.
• Carry and use a 11 lb telescopic measuring and switching stick.
• Clear brush with a brush axe or machete as needed during survey work.
• Collaborate with others to share information and request assistance.
• Apply technical knowledge to resolve on-site problems.
• Use initiative to improve processes and increase knowledge.
• Communicate effectively in writing and orally with peers and customers.
• Assist in preparing technical reports and papers.
• Develop decision making skills based on job knowledge.
