Job summary

Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. is seeking individuals for lineman survey work in our electrical distribution projects. You will patrol rights-of-way, handle surveying tools, and assist in preparing technical reports while learning on the job.

Required are a high school diploma with utility experience or an associate degree in engineering technology, plus a valid driver's license. Training and benefits are provided as part of our team-oriented culture.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 2 years utility industry work experience or an Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• Knowledge of standards, codes, and regulations relevant to distribution utility line construction.
• Basic computer literacy required, training provided.
• Valid Driver's License and Safe Driving Record required.

Responsibilities

• Walk rights of way in varied terrain to patrol distribution line damage.
• Carry and handle 11 lb measuring and switching sticks.
• May clear brush with brush axe or machete to support surveying.
• Work with others to share information and assistance as needed.
• Apply technical knowledge to resolve problems in assigned tasks.
• Demonstrate initiative to improve processes and skills.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with colleagues and customers.
• Assist in preparing technical reports and papers.
• Develop decision-making skills based on job knowledge.
